Wouldnt it be 53.1? ---- No this is how many could not be placed into the answer you done by hand. The easiest way I have found to convert this to the correct answer is as follows: Lets use 242 ÷ 7 = 34 r4

OR.

........3 4 r4

...._______

7 / 2 4 32 Sorry about the dots, but answers.com don't allow for spaces at the start of the paragraph.

We take the remainder 4 in this case, and take what we divided it by, 7 this time, and divide that. Which gives us 4 ÷ 7 = .5714. Simply tagging that onto the end is approate.

On the calculator, it can show as 34.5714.........., because we are likely doing this by hand, the numbers can literally continue infinity, for this reason, I have only done it to four decimal places. My calculator on the other hand displays

34.571428571428571428571428571429

What is the remainder of 53 divded by 9?

The remainder is 8. To find the remainder when a number is divided by 9, add the digits together; if this sum has more than 1 digit, repeat until one digit remains. This digit is the remainder, unless it is 9 in which case the remainder is 0. examples: remainder 53 → 5 + 3 = 8 → remainder is 8 when 53 is divided by 9. remainder 126 → 1 + 2 + 6 = 9 → remainder is 0, ie no remainder, 126 is divisible by 9. remainder 258 → 2 + 5 + 8 = 15 → 1 + 5 = 6 → remainder is 6 when 258 is divided by 9.

How do you convert 10 over 3?

Depends what you are converting it to. For a fraction: 10/3 is equivalent to 3 with a remainder of 1 so 10/3 = 3 1/3 If you want to convert it to a decimal: 3 goes into 10 3 times, with a remainder of 1. This is the most number of times it can stay as a whole number. After this, everything is a fraction of a number so comes after the decimal point. With one third (1/3) remaining, you have to make this a decimal too. 1/3 as a decimal is .3 recurring. So we have 3 (whole number) .3 recurring So: 10/3 = 3 1/3 10/3 = 3.3r therefore 3 1/3 = 3.3r

How do you invert the remainder of division problem to a decimal?

You do not invert it. However, you can convert the remainder to a decimal by carrying out a long division of the remainder divided by the original divisor. For example, 13/3 = 4r1 Then, long division of the remainder (=1) by the divisor (=3) gives 0.33.... which is the converted remainder. The full quotient, in decimal form is 4.33...

How do you convert decimal 23 from binary to decimal?

To convert a decimal number to binary, you simply need to divide by 2 and take note of the remainder. Example: 23 / 2 = 11 Remainder 1 11 / 2 = 5 Remainder 1 5 / 2 = 2 Remainder 1 2 / 2 = 1 Remainder 0 2 / 1 = 0 Remainder 1 The answer is therefore 10111. NB: If the question is to answer is 8-bit you must pad it out with zeroes as follows: 00010111

What is the binary equivalent of the decimal number 23?

To convert decimal to binary, divide the decimal number you want to convert by 2 and write down the remainder. Repeat this until the final result is zero. The remainders you wrote down, written from the last one you wrote to the first (so the opposite order from which you derived them) is the binary equivalent. So using this method with the number 23 we get:23/2 = 11 remainder 111/2 = 5 remainder 15/2 = 2 remainder 12/2 = 1 remainder 01/2 = 0 remainder 1So the binary equivalent is 10111
