I do not know what a " benchmark " fraction is, so I just use like denominators to compare different fractions. 60 will have to do here.
12*2/12*5 and 5*7/5*12
24/60 and 35/60
from this we can see that 7/12 is greater than 2/5
7/12 > 2/5
---------------
1/2 is a benchmark fraction. Since 7/12 is greater than 1/2 and 2/5 is less than 1/2, 7/12 must be greater than 2/5.
4 km = 4000 metres. You decide which is greater.
Yes, 0.875 is greater than 0.75. To decide which is bigger you look at the first digit after the decimal point, and the larger one is the greater number. Since 8 is larger than 7, that means .875 is greater than .75.
4/9 and 2/3 = 4/9 and 6/9 You decide
1 lb = 16 oz 8 oz = 8 oz You decide
A positive number is greater than a negative number. If a positive number is greater than another, the corresponding negative numbers are smaller. For example, since 4 > 3, -4 < -3. For two positive numbers: The number with more digits is greater. If they have the same number of digits, the number with the greater first digit is greater. If they are equal, look at the second digit, which will decide which number is greater, and so forth, up to the last digit. For example, 12500 is greater than 12480: they have the same number of digits, the first two digits are the same, but the third digit is the tie-breaker. For numbers with decimals, first apply the rules above for the whole part. If they are equal, check the first digit after the decimal point, then the second, etc., until you find a "tie-breaker". For example, 0.2522 is more than 0.2517. Once again, the first two digits are the same, the third is the tiebreaker.
5/12 and 5/11, same as 55/132 and 60/132 Now you decide
Find the GCF of 15 and 40. Since the GCF is greater than one, the fraction is not in its simplest form.
If the denominator is larger than the numerator it is less than one. If the Numerator is larger it is greater than one. If they are both the same it is equal to one.
A fraction. Usually a mixed fraction or improper fraction, depending how you decide to show the result.
4 km = 4000 metres. You decide which is greater.
Ill posed question. I wish to delete it but I do not see an delete option.
Find the GCF of the numerator and the denominator and divide them both by it. If the GCF is 1, the fraction is in its simplest form.
First decide what the benchmark index is (i.e the FTSE, DOW Jones, commodities index etc). Then plot the benchmark returns against the stock returns. Then add a straight line of best fit. The beta is the slope of the trendline Check out the Excel spreadsheet in the related link.
The number with the smaller absolute value (magnitude) is greater.
Comparison
The positive number is always greater.
