∙ 11y agoLay the 5cm & 7cm end-to end - which gives you a length of 12cm.Lay the 9cm & 2cm end-to end - which gives you a length of 11cm.
Now - lay both pairs next to each other - making sure one end is flush with it's neighbour. The difference is 1cm. Something like this....

A square with a side length of 2cm has an area of 4cm2
You have to measure how long each side on the shape is.Then you add up all the sides length e.g if you have 4 sides which are 2cm each then you add them together which is 8cm.
