You take the number and use the caret key and then take it to the 1/3 power and its the same as saying to the cubed root.

Alternatively:

1) Press, ♦ and 9 - the expression "root(" will be entered for you;

2) Enter the number and root separated by a comma, and the closing parenthesis, eg for cube root of 8, enter "8,3)" making the entry on the display "root(8,3)";

3) Press ENTER and the answer will be displayed (in this case "2").
