Turn the mixed numbers into not mixed numbers the times the numerators by each other and then mulitply the numerators on top and the denominators on the bottom, and simplify.

For example, 1 and 3/5 times 2 and 5/8. 1 is like 5/5, so 1 and 3/5 = 8/5.

2 is 2/1, which is the same as and 16/8. 16/8 + 5/8 = 21/8, so 2 and 5/8 = 21/8.

Now, you must multiply the 8/5 by the 21/8, but it's not as hard as it looks.

8 goes into the top on the first one and the bottom on the second one, so you can simplify both of the 8's into 1's, giving you 21/1 times 1/5.

Multiply the tops by each other and the bottoms by each other to get 21/5.

That's 21 divided by 5, which is 4 and 1/5
