For example, 1 and 3/5 times 2 and 5/8. 1 is like 5/5, so 1 and 3/5 = 8/5.

2 is 2/1, which is the same as and 16/8. 16/8 + 5/8 = 21/8, so 2 and 5/8 = 21/8.

Now, you must multiply the 8/5 by the 21/8, but it's not as hard as it looks.

8 goes into the top on the first one and the bottom on the second one, so you can simplify both of the 8's into 1's, giving you 21/1 times 1/5.

Multiply the tops by each other and the bottoms by each other to get 21/5.

That's 21 divided by 5, which is 4 and 1/5
