First make the divisor (0.8) a whole number by multiplying it by some other number and also multiply the dividend (30) by the same number. Then do the division as normal.

When making the divisor a whole number it is usual to use a power of 10 (ie multiply by 10, 100, 1000, etc). In this case multiply the 0.8 by 10 to get 8, and also multiply the 30 by 10 to get 300. Then:

30 ÷ 0.8 = (30 × 10) ÷ (0.8 × 10) = 300 ÷ 8

And this can be solved in the normal way by long division:

300 ÷ 8 = 37 4/8 = 37 ½ = 37.5
