Technically there is no need to write 3.37 as a mixed number, it's already expressed as best as it should be.

You could write it as 3 37/100, if you wanted, which is a mixed number because it has a whole number and a proper fraction, but the term mixed number is really reserved for alternatively expressing improper fractions, like 337/100, for instance, in which the numerator (the top number) is larger than the denominator (the bottom number); such a number can be turned into a mixed number by dividing the 337 by 100, giving an answer of 3 and 37/100 (or, to put it back into the most simple term, 3.37).

A better example of changing an improper fraction into a mixed number would be the number 8/5, which is an improper fraction because the 8 (numerator) is larger than the 5 (denominator); to change it into a mixed number, divide the 8 by 5, giving 1, with a remainder of 3, yielding 1 3/5, read as "one and three-fifths".
