Any number to the first power is that number - so 3 to the first = 3

Any number to the second power is that number multilpied by itself, so 3 to the second = 3 x 3

Any number to the third power is itself to the second power multiplied by itself, so 3 to the third = 3 x 3 x 3

and so on..

so three to the fourth = 3 x 3 x 3 x 3

As three is a Prime number there are no other factors.
