If you are writing a cheque.

Then you write in words, 'Eighty pounds only'. or ' Eighty pounds and no pence'. In figures '£80.00p'.

Being a cheque, you MUST date it, write the receivers name on it, and sign it.

If any part is missing or incorrect, a bank will 'bounce' (return to drawer) the cheque
