To write a number a a product of it's primes you first break it down into factor pairs. This is repeated until only prime factors are left.
For example: 24 = 6 x 4
Now 6 = 2 x 3 and 4 = 2 x 2. Since 2 and three are prime we stop here.
Finally we write this as a product: 24 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 = 23 x 3
An example can be found using the related link below.
1450 as a product of primes = 2 * 5 * 5 * 29
To write a composite whole number as the product of its prime factors is to write its prime factorization.
It is 1*79 = 79.0 because 79 is a prime number
5x5x3
20 as a product of primes = 2 * 2 * 5
5*3
It is called the prime factorisation (or prime decomposition) of the composite number.
2 * 33 * 72
95 is the product of two primes, 5 and 19.
72 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3
2*2*2*5*!
14 = 2 x 7
