Going farther, you can take -6 and 1/4 and chance it into an IMPROPER FRACTION (where your numerator has a greater value than your denominator). Multiply 6*4 and add 1 to get a numerator of 25, and keep the denominator 4. Dont forget your negative sign!

Your final fraction would be -25/4.
