When you get the answer 37 1/2, you bring the decimal to the front of the 3 in 37 1/2. You turn the 1/2 into a 5 and add it to the end of your decimal. Seeing as the 5 is larger then 5 or more, you round the 7 in 9.37 to 9.38. It does not always work out this way, where the decimal is the same number(s) as the fraction. Hope it helps!!
