You can only make 1, with a remainder of 4 people left over. If you added one more person, you could make 2 groups though. Assuming there are no other restrictions on who is in the group, there are 15120 different possible combinations.

9C5 = 9! / 5!4! =>

Cancel down by 5!. Hence

9Cr = 9x8x7x6 / 4 x 3 x 2 x 1

9C5 = 3 x 7 x 6 / 1 =>

9C5 = 126 The answer!!!!!

So out of nine people , there are 126 ways of choosing five people.

NB THe exclamation mark (!) after the number means 'factorial'.
