Any value greater than 0 inches.

(If the width were 0 in, then the volume would have to be 0 cu in.)

Assuming a cuboid:

volume = length × depth × width

→ width = volume ÷ (length × depth)

The width is dependent upon the length and depth (and volume).

1 ft = 12 in

→ 1 cu ft = 1 ft × 1 ft × 1 ft = 12 in × 12 in × 12 in = 1728 cu in

→ 25.5 cu ft = 25.5 × 1728 cu in = 44064 cu in

Examples:

  • Let length = 1 in, depth = 1 in→ width = 44064 cu in ÷ (1 in × 1 in) = 44064 in
  • Let length = 1224 in, depth = 9 in→ width = 44064 cu in ÷ (1224 in × 9 in) = 4 in
  • Let length = 1224 in, depth = 0.009 in→ width = 44064 cu in ÷ (1224 in × 0.009 in) = 4000 in
