Let your sister be y years old now
Right now:
x+3 = y
In 20 years you are x+20 and your sister is y+20 years old
(y+20)=2x
plugging in y from the first equation:
[(x+3)+20]=2x
x+23=2x
x = 23
y = 23+3 = 26
To check, the answer if you are 23 now an your sister is 26 now in 20 years your sister will be 46 which is twice 23.
