Then

10P - 22.222...

Subtract

9P = 20 ( Note the recurring decimals subtract to zero).

P = 20/9

P = 2 2/9

NB When writing recurring decimal to infinity, the number is written as 2.222... ( with at least three stops/periods).

Otherwise it is deemed to be a terminating decimal.
