'Double' is an English language word that means multiply by '2'.

Another English language word that means the same is 'twice'.

Casually , 200% means 'double/twice/multiply by '2' of 100%

However, in correct mathematics, there is no such number as 200% . 100% is totality.

If any value becomes greater than 100% , then it is multiplied by the given value of increase.

e.g. 125% (Ugh!!!!) means 100 x 1.25 = 125.

NB

Similarly ,

'Triple' means multiply by '3'.

The same as 'thrice' , which also means multiply by '3'.

There is no corresponding word for '4' or greater'.

No,

50 is double of 25 so....if

X = 50

Y = 25

X - Y = 25

25 / Y = 1

1 * 100 = 100%

100% is double.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

X = 50

Y = 25

X/Y = 2

X = 2 x Y <------- statement 1

X/Y = 2

X/Y = 2 x 100% = 200%

X = 200% of Y <------ statement 2

By statement 1 & 2, 200% is equivalent to double.
