In long division....

322 <--- divide 7 into the first two digits and carry the remainder... 32/7=4 with 4 remainder.

Add the last digit (2) to the end of the 4 to give 42, and divide the number again... 42/7=6 exactly.

Now - you have the 4 from the first calculation and 6 from the second. Therefore 322/7=46.

You can use this method for ANY number divided by ANY number !
