When 2 or more angles add up to 180 degrees they are said to be supplementary. Supplementary angles only occur on straight lines, so if one angle is said to be 120 the other angle has to be 60 degrees in order to form a straight line and also to add the angles to 180 degrees

The negative difference between the measures of supplementary angles is -45. Find the measure of the larger angle?

112.5 degrees

What is the difference between adjacent and supplementary angles?

Supplementary angles are two angles whose measures add to 180 degrees. Adjacent angles are two angles that happen to lie next to each other, so that they combine to form a larger angle whose measure is the sum of the measures of the adjacent angles. Angles may be both adjacent and supplementary, in which case they will form a straight angle.

Two angles are supplementary If one angle measures twice the other what is the number of degrees in the larger angle?

120 (2/3 of 180)

Two angles are supplementary and one measures 60 less than the other Find the measure of the larger angle?

Two supplementary angles add up to 180 degrees. If one measures 60 less than the other, they must be 60 and 120 degrees, so the measure of the larger angle is 120 degrees. To find that algebraically, where m is the larger angle: m+(m-60)=180 2m=240 m=120

What is the relationship between complementary and supplementary angles?

For any given angle, its supplementary angle is 90 degrees larger than its complementary angle.

An angle is 80degrees larger than its supplement. what are the angles measures?

130 and 50 degrees.

In the right triangle the ratio of the measures of the two acute angles is 4 to 1 what is the measure in degrees of the larger acute angle?

It is: 72 degrees

Two angles are complementary One angle has a measure that is five times the measure of the other angle What is the measure in degrees of the larger angle?

Complementary angles are angles that add up to 90 degrees. If the smaller angle is x, the larger is 5x, so 6x = 90. X equals 15, and the larger angle measures 75 degrees.

In the right triangle the ratio of the measures of the two acute angles is 4 to 1 what is the measures in degrees of the larger acute angle?

the two acute angles have a sum of 90. If the ratio is 4:1, then there are five units to split. Divide the 90 degrees by 5.90/5 = 1818 * 4 = 72So the larger angle has a measure of 72 degrees and the smaller angle is 18 degrees.

What are angles measures of a scalene acute triangle with an angle of 24 degrees?

The smaller of the other two angles can have any value between (but not including) 66 to 78 degrees. The larger of the three will be 156 degrees minus the above angle.

Two angles are complementary the sum of the measures of the larger angle and three times the measure of the smaller angle is 114 degrees what is the measure of each angle?

The question is contradictory as complimentary angles are defined as having a sum of 90 degrees.

The measure of an angle is 4 times its complements find the measures of both angles?

Complementary angles total 90 degrees so smaller is 90/5 ie 18 and larger 72.
