the way I see it is, if you have 4 consecutive numbers, the sum of the highest and lowest will be the same as the sum of the 2 middle ones, eg: 10,11,12,13, 10+13=23, 11+12=23. so if you divide 74 by 2, then that number by 2, if you just fan them out youll get the answer: 74/2=37, 37/2=18.5, alright doesnt exactly work, just use 18 and 19 as the middle ones and the answer is: 17, 18, 19, 20
17+18+19+20=74, mulitply does not come close... what is the actuial question?
5 and 7 52+72 = 74
They are seven, eight, and nine. Hint, letting m be the middle number, 9m will be close to 74. Further hint, 2(m - 1) + 3m + 4(m + 1) = 2m - 2 + 3m + 4m + 4 = 9m + 2. Thus, the middle integer must be 8. Three consecutive integers are such thatwhen they are taken in increasing order and multiplied by 23 and 4 respectivelythey add up to 74 find these numbers?
In order to do any consecutive integer problem, you should think of the numbers as x's. Here's what I did to solve this problem (and what you can do to solve future problems): (x) + (x +1) + (x +2) + (x + 3) = 290 4x + 6 = 290 4x = 284 x = 71, therefore the four numbers are 71, 72 (71 + 1), 73 (71 + 2), and 74 (71 + 3).
72+74+76+78 =300. Explanation: let x be the first number. Then the others are x+2,x+4 and x +6. x +( x + 2) +( x + 4) + (x + 6 ) = 300 4x + 12 = 300. 4x = 288 x = 288/4 = 72. So, the numbers are 72,74,76 and 78.

The numbers are 72, 73, 74, 75 and 76.
72,73 & 74
For 216 the numbers are 70, 72 and 74. For 238 the numbers are 58, 59, 60 and 61.
74, 76.
74 + 75
The numbers are 73, 74, 75, 76 and 77.
