Layer 2 multicast. vtp is stopped at the router.
transparent
A switch running in VTP Transparent mode will not participate in VLAN synchronization. With VTP version 2, it will forward VLAN traffic out its trunk interfaces.
Hi everybody the difference between VTP version 1 and version 2 are : 1- version 1 : it supports Token Ring Vlans 2- version 2 : it supports consistency checks .it means , when the new information about the VTP domain is entered through the command line or others as SNMP ,VTP version 2 will perform the consistency check . in VTP version 2 , if a switch is in transparent mode .it will forward the message without checking version information .
Three VTP parameters that must be identical on all switches to participate in the same VTP domain include domain name, domain password, and version number. VTP stands for VLAN Trunk Protocol. The answer can be found at http://www.ccna4u.org/2011/06/ccna-3-chapter-4-2011-v4-0-answers-100.html
