The ratio you're given is in it's simplest form, meaning it can't be reduced any farther. To get equivalent ratios, multiply the numerator and the denominator (top and bottom numbers respectively) by any number you want. Just make sure you multiply both the top AND the bottom by the SAME number. Just to make it easy, three equivalent fractions for 11/12 are

22/24 ,

33/36 ,

and 44/48 .

Three equivalent ratios for 11 to 12 are 22 to 24, 33 to 36, and 44 to 48. Equivalent ratios are obtained by multiplying or dividing both parts of the ratio by the same non-zero number. In this case, multiplying both parts by 2, 3, or 4 will result in equivalent ratios.

Well, darling, if we're talking about ratios, then 11 to 12 is the same as 22 to 24, 33 to 36, and 44 to 48. It's like comparing apples to bigger apples - same ratio, just different quantities. Math is just playing with numbers, honey!
