the average in maths is...the total quantites divided by the number of quantities.

For example,

1, 2, 3, 4, 5

= 15

there are five numbers

so 15/5 = 3

Average is the same thing as mean ( in math of course) ok you have to have a group of numbers. Then you add them all up and divide the sum by the numbers in that data set aka the group of numbers.

Ex.

Data set: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 Lawl cheesey men is popopopopDie in a hole raper

Add them: 1+2+3+4+5+6= 28

divide: 28/7 ( You would divide by 7 since there are 7 numbers in that data set)

ANSWER: 4

So the average would be 4
