The +/- stat is tied to team performance during the time that that particular player is on the court. The games official scorer records the differential in terms of gain (plus) or loss (minus).

By way of example, if David Lee enters the game with the score tied at 80 to 80, and leaves with his team ahead by 3, he gets a plus 3. Conversely, if he enters with his team ahead by 13, and leaves with a 3 point lead, he gets a minus-10.

These numbers are added up throughout the game until at the end you have your final +/- for each player that you see in the box score.

More to the point, as the NBA explains:

The +/- stat shows the power of teamwork. It's a way of showing the best-engineered/best combination of players on the court. The +/- stat is a statistic that looks at the point differential when players are both in and out of the game, to see how the team performs with various combinations. The +/- stat can look at a variety of combinations including the best two player, three player and even five player combinations for each game.

For example, through their exit in the 2011 conference semifinals, the Boston Celtics has the best cumulative 9-game composite +/- of +64 (9 games) with the combination of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Jermaine O'Neal, Paul Pierce and Rajan Rondo, ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies (prior to the game of 13 May 2011), who have a cumulative +/- of +48 with the combination of Shane Battier, Zach Randolph, Mike Conley, Marc Gasol and OJ Mayo.

What is the noun for box?

If you mean box as in "I put my things in a box." Then, box is already a noun. If you mean box as in "I really like boxing." The noun would be boxing. This can also be used as a verb.

Can you find the mean median mode and range on a box and whisker plot?

Oh, dude, finding the mean, median, mode, and range on a box and whisker plot is like trying to make a sandwich with a hammer. The box and whisker plot already shows you the median (that's the line in the box) and the range (from whisker to whisker). The mean and mode aren't typically shown on a box plot because they're off doing their own thing, not invited to the box and whisker party.

Dividend what does it mean?

In the equation, it's the answer inside the "box". The divisor is the number outside the "box".

How do you work out the range of values a box will extend in a boxplot using the mean score 100 and standard deviation 20?

It is not possible to determine the range since there is always the possibility that there are outliers. Also, there is no information about the skewness of the data. If the distribution is symmetric, there is a high probability (99.75%) that the values will lie within 3 standard deviations of the mean - that is between 40 and 160.

Area of a box?

There's no such thing as "area of a box" unless you mean "surface area of a box." Length * width * height gives you the volume of a 3D box. Length * width gives area of a 2D rectangle. Surface area of a box can be found by calculating the area of each face and adding them together.
