It shows how it relates to the actual house. Without scale, you would need as much paper as there is house. Example: a 30 foot house with the scale of 30:1 would be drawn as being 1 foot tall.
An underline on a dimension means that it is not to scale.
Do you mean WHERE on the scale?
It could possibly mean the element Helium or He as in reference to a male.
Broke my scale
A bar scale- helps you find the distance between two places on a world map.
Scale is how much smaller(or bigger) the drawing is compared to the real object. It'd be real awkward if you were drawing a house to have to make the drawing as big as the house would be. But for the drawing to work out you need to know how to translate between the drawing and reality - so you decide something. Scale 1:12 for instance would mean that something that's one inch in the drawing would be one foot in reality.

An underline on a dimension means that it is not to scale.
This means drawing something exact. For example, if in a test it was to say 'NOT drawn to scale' it would mean it isn't drawn correctly and wasn't reliable.
Scale provides the ability to measure a depicted feature or arrangement of features on the drawing, and scale it to what it was / will be in the real world. It is not always possible to dimension every possible feature, and a scaled drawing allows someone to infer what a given dimension will be.
This means drawing something exact. For example, if in a test it was to say 'NOT drawn to scale' it would mean it isn't drawn correctly and wasn't reliable.
To scale a building means to climb it by means of a ladder, or to reach the highest point. This term is often used in reference to attacking a castle - to "scale a castle wall" when attacking.
It means that one unit of measurement on the drawing represents one hundred times that in reality. eg 1 cm on drawing represents 1 metre in reality.

Drawing to scale means that you are either making a picture smaller or bigger because it might be to big to draw like a house so u make it smaller or really tiny like a bug so in-large it. For example: Say you have a small wallet sized picture but you want to put it on your wall You decide you want it to be 40 cm by 60 cm but it's only 4 cm by 6 cm, you put it to scale and use a grid to help keep track. Just remember this ratio for these numbers, 1:10
Drafting means actually drawing the drawing.
Do you mean a drawing "pen?"
