I think the bolt pattern is wrong. First choice is 17x7.5 (1/2" wider rim) & 5x114.3 (5-bolt on 114.3mm bolt circle). I think/hope the rim could be 7"wide as a second choice but the bolt pattern is critical. I have just picked up some 17x7 & 5x114.3 (not on the car yet). 215/50 or 225/50 tires normally take 6 to 8" wide rims.
The wheel and lug specification for the 2005 Dodge Dakota with the 17x7 inch wheels are as follows. The bolt layout diameter of 5.5 inches and a lug pattern of 5-139.
Well it is 235/45/17... 17 being the size of the rim. So yes it SHOULD fit. 235/ is the height. 45/ is the with and 17/ is the size of the wheel it fits on when reading a tire.
The answer is on page 330 of the 2006 Solara owner's manual. It's also on the driver's side doorsill and on the tire sidewall itself. P215/55R17 93V Wheel size is 17X7 Cheers
