' N ' is the number. 5 less than it is (N - 5).
The product of 7 and x is 7x, so 5 less than that is 7x - 5
x is less than or equal to 6
5-2+52=x x=55
n x (n -5)
Let x = the number Difference: 5 is less than a number: 5 < x 5 less than a number: x - 5 1234
If x is an even number, then x is not an odd number. If x is an odd number, then x is not an even number. If x is greater than 5, then x is not less than 5. If x is less than 5, then x is not greater than 5.
x + 3 < 5
' N ' is the number. 5 less than it is (N - 5).

X = number. 5/X - 12 ======
x is less than or equal to 6
5-2+52=x x=55
x<5
5 < xactually my math teacher would dissagree X-5
In one way, it's just common sense, but there are several phrases you need to be familiar with. For example, "5 less x" becomes 5-x. "5 less than x" becomes x-5. "5 is less than x" becomes 5<x. "5 minus x" is 5-x, but "5 subtracted from x" is x-5. "5 diminished by x" is 5-x. A good algebra book should have a list of 20 or so examples like this.
x/(10-5) = 3 x/5 = 3 x = 3*5 = 15
