Four more than one third of x can be represented as (1/3)x + 4. This expression means you first find one third of x by multiplying x by 1/3, then add 4 to that result.

1/3X + 4

just use the English to make math.

one third x means: 1/3 times X

four more mean: add 4

So putting them together means: 1/3 times X plus 4 or 1/3X + 4
