Uh, your question doesn't really make any sense....

A negative plus a positive can equal...a negative or a positive. Here is an example:

-9 + 5 = -4 or -5 + 7 = 2

So they can be both.

There's no general rule that tells you what the sign of the sum will be every time.

It can be either positive or negative, depending on which one has the greater

magnitude.

It depends on what the numbers are. Like if it's 8 plus -4. It'd be just like 8 - 4.
