There are a lot of them (actually an infinite amount). A rational number is a number which can be represented as a fraction (ratio) of two integers {non-zero denominator}.

So 12.11 is a rational number, because it can be represented as 1211/100. It is greater than 12.1 and less than 12.2 so it is between them.
