Base-10 is the number system we commonly use. It uses 10 number symbols (digits), from 0-9, and each position is worth 10 times as much as the position that is one to the right. For example, the thousands position (the fourth position from the right) is worth 10 times as much as the hundreds position (the third position from the right).
