= .7333 repeating

If you want a fraction, you have to convert both fractions to have a common denominator and then add. Then you would reduce if necessary.

In this case, convert both to 15ths. 1/3 is 5/15 and 2/5 is 6/15. You end up with 11/15. That is already in lowest terms.
