There are two advantages that I can imagine:
#1). It allows you to finish that exercise a few seconds sooner, which gives you
a bit more time to work on the remaining ones, or to finish the homework sooner
and go back to Video Games and Surfing the net.
#2). It drives the teacher batty when the homework papers are being graded,
which is always a background objective when you're doing any assignment.
There's no mathematical difference between them; they're the same value. They express the same ratio. In a simplified fraction, the GCF of the numerator and the denominator is 1. In an unsimplified fraction, that GCF is greater than one.
To unsimplify a fraction, multiply the numerator and denominator by the same unit - it doesn't even necessarily have to be an integer unit. For example, an unsimplified version of 5/7 could be (5 x 2) = 10 over (7 x 2) = 14 - or 10/14.
one quater or 1/4 is a fraction already. an equivilant but improper or unsimplified fraction would be 2/8, 4/16, 8/32, 3/12, 9/36, 10/40, 20/80 or basically anything where the top number is one fourth of the bottom number.
You can show fractions as simplified, unsimplified, improper, or mixed numbers: Simplified- can be done different ways 1) 14/6= 7/3 <----- leaving it as a fraction is most common 2) 14/6= 2.3333333 <----- sometimes questions ask for a decimal answer Unsimplified- you never leave a final answer unsimplified 1) 4/2 (simplified it equals 2) 2) 14/6= (simplified it equals 7/3) Mixed numbers- this the opposite of improper form 1) 2 3/5 (2 wholes plus 3/5) is 10+13= 23/5r Improper fractions- they're the opposite of mixed numbers and to do math problems must be in this form 1) 23/5 is 2 3/5 (2 wholes plus 3/5 extra) Yep... fractions! :D
Not without leaving a remainder, or a fraction 109 / 2 = 54.5 Only numbers which end in 0, 2, 4 , 6 or 8 are divisible by 2

The denominator in the unsimplified fraction.
Nothing. All the information contained in either version is contained in the other.
It is 57/60, which can be simplified but, in my view, the unsimplified version is easier to work with.
It is 15/100 which can be simplified. But the unsimplified version is probably easier to work with.
373/100 a way to get the answer is to first convert it to a unsimplified fraction (3.73/1) then times both side by 100. this will make 373/100
How many Catholics? 2 Find the probability that the coordinator is not Catholic. enter your response here (Write as an unsimplified fraction)
It is 15/24. This can be simplified to 5/8 but often the unsimplified version is easier to work with.

1.75 Kilometers is 1750/1000 as a unsimplified improper fraction, 7/4 as a simplified improper fraction, and 1 and 3/4 as a proper & simplified fraction.
The bottom number of the original, unsimplified fraction represents the number of equal parts in one whole, where each part is of the same magnitude as the top number. Once the fraction has been simplified, these links no longer apply directly, but only through equivalence.
The advantage of representative fraction is that any unit of distance may be adopted.
