Actually, there is an answer. It involves using the imaginary number i.

To solve:

1. Rewrite the equation as x2-2x+10=0.

2. This now can be used as a, b, and c for the quadratic formula. (A=1, B=-2, C=10)

The quadratic formula is: -b +/- the square root of 4-4(a)(c) ALL divided by 2(a).

You then get a negative in the radical which you can convert to an imaginary number using an i.

ANOTHER UPDATE:

That would be right if she had a mathematic sign before the number 10, but she doesn't. Sorry, man. That's a whooooole different problem.
