By integration, which basically means dividing the object into small slices and calculating the area of each slice. If the (basically 2-dimensional) slice is itself irregular, you need to apply integration once more on each slice.
This topic is explored in detail in calculus courses.
There is no formula. That's why it's called irregular!
if it is a regular shape, a box, prism, pyramid, cone, sphere, use a math formula. irregular shapes, use water displacement.
In general, volume is length times width times depth. This is easy to calculate if the object whose volume you wish to know happens to be cubical or rectilinear in shape. If it an irregular shape, such as (let us say) an octopus, then the calculation is more complicated. In theory, any three dimensional shape can be approximated by some finite number of cubes. Integral calculus can also be used in some cases (although it would be really difficult with an octopus). With a real octopus, you could also just put it into a graduated cylinder filled with water and see how much water it displaces. So volume is not always found by means of a formula.
Finding the area of an irregular shape is now quite easily done after watching the instructional video at [See related link below for the website] and it's for free
It depends on the shape of the tank.
You get the Volume by using formulas. There is usually a specific formula to find the volume of each shape. Some irregular shapes may not have a formula.
use calculus and integrate or fill it with water and measure.
Simple. A triangle is a 2-dimensional object and therefore its volume is always 0.
If a shape is two dimensional it has NO volume - volume is an attribute of THREE dimensional shapes. If you meant the AREA of an irregular two dimensional shape, then divided it up into areas which are not irregular and so you can calculates them, and sum the areas of these non-irregular shapes. If you meant the volume of an irregular THREE dimensional shape, then a similar process can be followed by dividing it up into three dimensional shapes you can can calculate the volume of and summing them, though if it is an irregular object that you are physically holding, then you can find its volume by finding the increase in volume of a liquid (In a regular container) when the object is submerged into that liquid.
It depends on what kind of irregular shape you are talking about and the characteristics you want a formula for.
You get the Volume by using formulas. There is usually a specific formula to find the volume of each shape. Some irregular shapes may not have a formula.
Density is weight divided by volume. Measure the weight (with a scale), calculate the volume (which is easy to do if the foam is rectangular in shape - you might even want to cut out a rectangular piece, if your foam has an irregular shape), and divide the weight by the volume.
Density = (mass) divided by (volume)regardless of the substance, or the shape of the sample.
Volume of irregular or regular shape object is the space reserved by the object in any medium.
There is no formula. That's why it's called irregular!
If the shape is a regular polygon or curve there are formula for each shape. If the shape is irregular you will have to measure each piece of the shape's edge and sum all the pieces together.
We get the idea that an "irregular sphere" is not a sphere. At that point, we knowexactly what it isn't, but not much yet about what it is. So you have to reveal a lotmore about it before anyone can calculate its volume. Like, for example, less infoabout what the object is not like, and more definition of its actual shape.
