The line is called a diagonal if it is drawn between two nonadjacent angles.
If your are referring to a triangle, then the vertices (angles) are identified using capital letters. So, for example, you can have a triangle ABC.The sides opposite to each angle are labelled in lower case.a is opposite ∠A, b is opposite ∠B, and side c is opposite ∠C

You can use trigonometry to find the solution. A diagonal divides a square into two triangles, known as "45-45-90" triangles (because of the measures of each angle). According to a law of the same name, the hypotenuse (side opposite of the 90o angle) has a length equal to the length of a leg (side opposite of a 45o angle) times the square root of two. So, since the hypotenuse is a diagonal, you will find that the length of each side of the square is 6 divided by the square root of 2. Find the square of this, and you have the total area: 18 square yards.

They're the 'base angles'.

Diagonally opposite angles of a rectangle or square is one example.
Parallelogram
Rectangle or a square.
A parallelogram.
.Opposite side: consider a rectangle. Name the corners A,B,C,D, name can be at any corner but continous. Now AB and CD, AD and BC are opposite sides. Or opposite sides are parallel lines they are not suppose to be equal but parallel. Opposite angles: consider X mark the upper 'v' makes angle at the joining point let angle be A1. The 'Λ' lower v mark makes angle at joining points let angle be A2. Then A1and A2 are opposite angles. The joining of two straight lines makes opposite angles.
