To find the next number in any series, first you have to find out the pattern. It's not hard, really - just go through addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication and see which one fits. Sometimes they switch with every other one, so just be on the look out. It takes practice to get the hang of this.
For 1 1 2 4 5 25, the only thing that makes sense for the first one (1 to 1) is division by one, multiplication by one, or squaring one. Neither of this works for the next one (1 to 2), so move on to the third (2 to 4). The only one that works is squaring two.
Now you have that every other number is squared.
Then look at the pattern you haven't figured out (1 to 2, 4 to 5, 25 to ?). Now it's pretty obvious that the pattern is squaring the number, then adding one, and rotating them from there.
5 was squared to 25, so we have to add one.
Therefore, the next number would be 26.
25-1=24 24-2=22 22-3=19 19-4=15 15-5=10 The next number in the series is 10.
The pattern appears to be that n1 is defined as 25; n2 = n1 + 3; n3 = n2 - 4 = n1 - 1. If this is the pattern, the next number would be 25. If this is the pattern, the series would repeat endlessly: 25, 28, 24, 27,23, 26, 22, 25, , 28, 24, 27,23, 26, 22, ...
This series is of the function f(x) = x2+1, starting with x=0.The next number in the series is 26. The number after that is 37.
The series appears to increase as follows: 1 (+3), 4 (+5), 9 (+7), 16,, etc. If so, the next number in the series would be 25 (16 + 9). * * * * * While mathematically equivalent, a simpler description is: 12, 22, 32, 42, 52 ...
625 (u times all the numbers by 5) =========================== Another way to look at the series of numbers: 1 = 5^0 5 = 5^1 25 = 5^2 125=5^3 The next number, as the first author points out, should be 5^4 = 625. ==========================
-26.You are subtracting each number in the series by 25 to find the next number.So 49 - 25 = 2424 - 25 = -1And -1 - 25 = -26The next number would then be -26 - 25 = -51etc...
.125
15
This is the series of square numbers, (16= 4*4). The next number is 5*5=25.
27
The Pattern is 1^2- 2^2- 3^2- 4^2- 5^2 or 1 - 4 - 9 - 16 - 25 The next number in the series is 6^2 or 36
25-1=24 24-2=22 22-3=19 19-4=15 15-5=10 The next number in the series is 10.
These are squares. 12 = 1 22 = 4 32 = 9 (it is missing 42 = 16) 52 = 25 62 = 36 The next one in the series is probably 72 = 49.
The series is the result of squaring whole numbers starting with 1: 1*1=1 2*2=4 3*3=9 4*4=16 5*5=25 Therefore, the next number must be the result of squaring 6 (or 6*6), which is 36.
The next number is 25 but there are the sequence is infinite so there can be no end to the sequence.
The next number is 9. The sequence is - starting with the 1st digit, you add 2 each time. Starting at the 2nd digit, each number is a square. Therefore the next two numbers would be 9 (7+2) and 25 (5x5)
