Hanging indent is the term for the bottom triangle at the 0 mark on a horizontal ruler.
On a metric ruler, that point is about 13.386 inches fromthe 'zero' end, whether or not there's a mark there.
well its definitely between the 8" mark and the 7.75" mark
It's almost exactly 1/5 of the way from the beginning of the ruler to the 1-inch mark.
It is three quarters of the way from the 3 inch mark towards the 4 inch mark. Imperial rulers are normally marked in 16th of an inch with the 4th and 12th marks slightly longer and the 8th even longer. The 4th mark is ¼, the 8th mark is ½ and the 12th mark is ¾; 3.75 inches is 3¾ inches so on such a ruler it is the 12th mark to the right of the 3, and will be slightly longer than the 3 marks either side of it.
It is the ninth minor tick from the 5 cm mark towards the 6 cm mark.
The one that came after the eighth ruler of course.
