I am presuming you mean: How do you show 14 out of 20 as a percentage%. If so :

Because Per cent means per 100. You need to work out how many out of 100

So 14/20 x 100

14 out of 20 = 14 Divided by 20 = 0.7 then multiplied by 100 (move decimal point

to the right 2 places- effectively X by 100)= 70.

Or another way would be: As 100 is 5 lots of 20 -

20 is a fifth of 100 (1/5). 5 x 20 = 100

so you need to x the 14 by 5 to give you the per cent (age).

14 x 5 = 70
