Many great philosphers have pondered this question throughout the ages...

The answer to "what is the significance of the tikka" is not an easy one, you must tread the anointed path to enlightenment to truly understand its significance.

Its been argued that it could be the tandoori oven it's cooked in, the high heat means that the yoghurty coating dries and sticks to the meat like never before. One particular sect of "tikkaists" believe that it is the combination of many fresh and fragrant ingredients, including fresh coriander, lime, mint and various root spices that really exemplifies the cuisine of the area (north India mainly)

Such is the taste of tikka that it has been exported globally and enjoyed by many for its deep flavour - perhaps it is that global significance that truly typifies the tikka.
