According to a bible prophecy in Revelation 17 the seven kingdoms mentioned are believed to be the Kings (kingdoms) who oppress the truth and God's people. The sequence of the seven kingdoms are as follows (one succeeds the the previous)
1. Babylon
2. Medo-Persia
3. Greek
4. Roman
5. Roman-Catholics through European empires prior to the establishment of the USA
6. USA (when separation of the church and state still holds)
7. The ultimate empire, will likely be continuation of the sixth kingdom (according to Revelation 17 this seventh kingdom is of the six previous kingdoms) sans the separation of the church and state.
The seventh kingdom will have to rule the world prior to the return of Jesus Christ to earth for the second time.
