First, understand that the sqr rt. of say 9 is 3. 3x3=9.

Right, now were going to factor out 130, and according to that principle, any numeral needs a pair to be pulled to the outside of the radical.

130 breaks down to 10 x 13

13 is prime so leave it, 10 breaks down to 5 x 2.

We have 13 x 5 x 2 and no pairs. Sqr root of 130 is already as simplified as possible. Use a calculator for an approximation.

An example that works would be sqr rt. of 128

128 breaks down to 32 x 4

32 becomes 8 x 4, 4 becomes 2 x 2

8 is 2 x 2 x 2, 4 is 2 x 2, and 2 x 2 from the first 4.

there are seven 2's or 3 pairs with one left over so we pull 2 x 2 x 2 out front and leave the last 2 inside the radical.

sqr rt. of 128 = 8 sqr rt. of 2
