The surface area of a sphere is 4 x pi x r x r so in our case (since we have only half a sphere (hemisphere) the surface ares would be (0.5) x 4 x pi x 9 x 9 =162 x pi square cm. But now you have to add the area of the base because it gets exposed when youcuta sphere (to get the hemisphere) and the area of the base would be pi x r x r = pi x 9 x 9 = 81 x pi square cm. So add the two results to get 243 x pi = 763.4 square cm

Formula for total surface area of a hemisphere?

it is 3 times pi times r square, where r is the radius.

What is the formula for calculating surface area of a hemisphere?

The surface area of a whole sphere, of radius r, is 4*pi*r2.The area of the curved surface of a hemisphere is, therefore, 2*pi*r2.The area of the flat surface is that of a circle of radius r, that is = pi*r2.So the total surface area of a hemisphere is 2*pi*r2 + pi*r2 = 3*pi*r2.

What is radius of hemisphere whose total surface area is 942 cm?

The surface area of a sphere can be found with the formula 4pi * r2. Assuming the hemisphere is exactly half of a sphere, the surface area of a hemisphere can be found using the formula A = 2pi * r2 + pi * r2 Which can be written as A = pi(3r2) 942cm/pi = 3r2 314cm/pi = r2 r = 10cm (approximately) The radius of the hemisphere is approximately 10cm.

What is the total surface area of a hemisphere whose radius is 5 meters?

Total surface area including the base = (2*pi*52)+(pi*52) = 235.619 square metres to 3 decimal places

What is the difference between curved surface area of hemisphere and total surface area of hemisphere?

Curved surface area of a hemisphere means only the bent part of it , i.e,the part which looks like half of a sphere. Total surface area of a hemisphere is the circular top of a hemisphere + curved surface area of a hemisphere. So the formula goes like this: Curved surface area of hemisphere= 2πr2 Total surface area of hemisphere= 2πr2 + πr2 = 3πr2

What is the formula for calculating surface area of hemispherical dished end?

The area of a sphere is 4 (pi) (radius)2. The area of 1/2 of the sphere is 2 (pi) (radius)2. If you want to add in the flat end of the hemisphere, that makes the total surface area 3 (pi) (radius)2.

What is the total surface area of a hemispherical shape with a circumference of 43.988 cm taking pi as 3.142?

Remember to include the flat surface of the hemisphere in your answer and halve the fomula of 4*pi*radius squared: Radius = 43.988/(2*3.142) = 7 cm Total surface area = (3.142*72) + (2*3.142*72) = 461.874 square cm
