In the decimal number system, you can imagine as in example to be formed as

300 + 60 + 4

or (3 x 100) + (6 x 10) + (4 x 1)

Remembering that anything raised to the power 0 is 1, we can write this as

3 x (10 raised to 2) + 6 x (10 raised t0 1) + 4 x (10 raised to 0)

Hence starting from the rightmost (least significant digit) digit, the numbers denote the position values of 1, 10, 100, 1000, ....etc. multiplied by the digit itself.

In this case the 6 in 364 denotes sixty.
