Two thirds of whatever that something is. In other words, if you can divide something into three equal pieces, then two of those three pieces would be equal to two thirds of the original quantity. It works very well with pies. For example, let's say that you have three people getting together to eat an apple pie. You divide it into three equal parts and give one slice to each person. Let us say that two of these pie eating people are men, and one is a woman. Perhaps it is a husband, a wife, and their chubby son. We could then observe that two thirds of the pie is being served to men, and one third is served to a woman.
