So money obviously doesn't work unless it's as guaranteed as you getting hard seeing up a skirt on the first day of Spring under a student's desk.
So here is what I suggest, even though I'm no teacher (go figure):
Teens are interested in a few common denominators with socializing being the very catalyst to getting everything they want. Maybe you just encourage your class to work harder and by doing so you set up a day here or there where they get to do something special but different and to their liking. Not like some trivia party: you can only get drunk people in a bar 1 night a month to even commit to that. Not with Arts and Crafts time.
