Oh, what a happy little math problem we have here! Let's see, we're looking for two numbers that multiply to 24 and add up to -4. I think we can find those numbers by thinking about factors and how they work together. Can you see how -6 and -4 fit the bill? They multiply to 24 and add up to -4, just like a beautiful harmony in a painting.

Let's denote the two numbers as x and y. We know that xy = 24 and x + y = -4. By solving these two equations simultaneously, we can find that the two numbers are -6 and -4. This is because (-6) * (-4) = 24 and -6 + (-4) = -10, not -4.

Well, well, well, looks like we've got a little math puzzle on our hands! The numbers you're looking for are -6 and -4. They multiply to 24 and add up to -10, not -4. So, close but no cigar! Keep crunching those numbers!

Since the factors of 24 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24.

Let's try:

6 - 2 = 4.

2 - 6 = -4.

to be positive 24 they would have to be both pos or both neg and they wouldn't be able to equal -4 so it can't be done.. if you're trying to factor you'll have to use the quadratic equation
