Oh, dude, a 17-year-old is born in the year 2004 or 2005, depending on the current year. Like, it's not rocket science, but I guess math can be tricky for some people. Just take the current year and subtract 17, and boom, you've got your answer.

A 17-year-old is born in the year that is 17 years prior to the current year. For example, if the current year is 2021, a 17-year-old would have been born in 2004. This calculation is based on the fact that age is determined by the difference between the current year and the year of birth.

if the 17 year old has not had a birthday the current year it would be the current year - 17. (this year 2009 that would be 1992) else, if the 17 year old allready has had a birthday the current year it would be the current year - 18. (this year 2009 that would be 1991)
