76 Area = 361 = (side length)^2. This tells us that the length of a side is 19. Perimeter = 4*(side length) = 4*19=76.
This depends on the area you live in and how much area there is. If you lived in the US, you would more likely measure by hectares, acres, and other units of area. However, if you live in Great Britain, Asia or Australia and other parts of the world, you would more likely use square meters and centimeters. Now to your question. Which unit would you use to measure area: square centimeters or square meters? If I were to draw a square on a piece of paper, it would not match up to a single meter in length so I would measure by square centimeters (GB) or square inches (US). But if I were to measure larger areas such as land, I would measure in square meters (GB) or square feet and hectares (US).

Medusa did not control any area. She is not a goddess. If she was, she would control something.
It depends what you mean by "this area". The US is in control of many areas that have had different "rulers" at various times. For example, the eastern coast was mainly in control of the English prior to the revolutionary war. Other countries also had controlling interests in the area as well. New York City began as New Amsterdam, which was a Dutch fur trading settlement. The Spanish had some loose control over Florida. Areas in the Midwest and the Great Plains were purchased from France by the US. Texas was annexed by the US from Mexico. Of course all of these areas were also inhabited by natives before any European colonization began. The list of native inhabitants is long. If you're curious about a specific area I suggest researching the history of that area online or at the library.
