I'm not sure why, but I saw on PBS that there six sides of each cell (were the egg is placed) in a honeycomb and the narrator said that the hexagon or six-sided figure was the most sturdy shape and you get the most cells in any container. I suppose you could look up 'bees' or 'pencils'.
Triangle = 3 sides 3 angles Square = 4 sides 4 angles Hexagon = 5 sides 5 angles Pentagon = 6 sides 6 angles No certain name for 7 sides and 7 angles Octagon = 8 sides 8 angles Nonagon = 9 sides 9 angles Decagon = 10 sides 10 angles
6x - 10 = 8 Add '10' to both sides 6x = 18 Divide both sides by '6' x = 3 THe NUMBER!!!!!

The names of polygons are: 3: triangle 4: quadrilateral 5: pentagon 6: hexagon 7: heptagon 8: octagon 9: nonagon or enneagon 10: decagon
6+8+10=24 inches All you have to do is add the sides together
A standard pencil has 6 sides.

1 hexagon = 6 sides so 10 hexagons = 10*6 = 60 sides.
Decagon has 10 sides, and a Hexagon has 6 sides.
There are: 10*6 = 60 sides
